Overview
The Geolocation feature in Coperniq allows you to track where users are when clocking in and out, using virtual boundaries (geofences). You can enable it for specific roles or teams, define clock-in behavior, and send notifications when users arrive or leave job sites.
Accessing Geolocation Settings
To access the geolocation settings:
Click your company name in the top-left corner of the app
Select Workspace Settings
Scroll to Advanced Settings
Click on Geolocation

Turning Geolocation On/Off
At the top of the Geolocation panel, toggle the Geolocation switch ON or OFF.
Geolocation must be enabled for any of the features below to function.

Editing Geolocation Configuration
To set up who is tracked, how tracking behaves, and when users clock in/out:
Click Edit in the top-right of the Geolocation card
Select roles and/or teams who will be geolocated:
Roles: Admin, Manager, Worker, Sales, etc.
Teams: California PMs, Nevada Dealer, etc.
Configure Geofencing (optional):
Geofencing allows you to define a virtual boundary around a location (e.g., a job site). When users enter or exit that boundary, clock-in/out actions can be triggered.Toggle Geofencing ON to set virtual boundaries
Set a geofencing radius (e.g., 900 ft)

Set Clock-in/out behavior:
Automatically: Users are clocked in/out when they enter or leave a geofenced area
Manually: Users receive reminders to clock in/out near the location
Only allow clock-in within geofence: Restricts users from clocking in outside the defined area

Click Update to save your settings.
Geolocation Notifications
Once geofencing is enabled, you can configure automatic alerts:
Notify when clocking in/out automatically
Remind users to clock in/out manually when near a location
Delivery methods: Push, SMS, and Email
Receivers: Typically set to Assignee
To adjust delivery methods or recipients, click the Edit button next to each notification option.

Best Practices
Select only the roles or teams that require location tracking
Set a practical geofencing radius (e.g., 900 ft) to ensure accurate clock-ins
Use appropriate notification channels — Push, SMS, or Email — based on your team's needs
Enable “Only allow clock-in within geofence” if strict location compliance is necessary
